Evernote Planning to Introduce 2-Step Authentication

After they were hacked last week, Evernote are planning to add some new security features to the platform in order to keep users information safe, which they confirmed to InformationWeek earlier today, “We were already planning to roll out optional two-factor authentication to all of our users later this year. We are accelerating those plans now.”

Evernote haven’t revealed  any specifics for the authentication feature, but you can expect it to look and work a lot like the ones currently used by Dropbox, Facebook and of course, Google. Basically allowing you to secure your account further by forcing anyone who wants to access the account to enter a password and verification code when they log-in.

The verification code can either be found by sending it to the users mobile, or via an application.
