Motorola Announces Moto X Will Launch in October at D11

During AllThingsD’s D11 conference, Motorola’s CEO Dennis Woodside announced that they will be launching a new leading handset dubbed the Moto X in October, which is said to include and OLED screen and a bunch of other sensors.

Apart from which there’s not too much more details to reveal, speaking to the conference’s hosts Walt Mossberg and Kara Swisher, Dennis said the following:

“Motorola has always been good at managing power on the device, but we’re really good at managing sensors. We know when it’s in your pocket, we know when it’s in your hand, it’s going to know when you want to take a picture and fire up the cameras, the device will know when you’re in the car and it’s moving at 60mph and you’ll interact with it differently, more safely.”

Dennis also mentioned that the handset will be assembled in the previous Nokia factory in Fort Worth, Texas, and the processorn will come from Taiwan, with the OLED screen shipping from Korea.

Continuing to say:

“I’ll save the details for later, but battery life is a huge problem. Motorola has some of the world’s best engineers and systems designers who spend their lives on that problem. There are two processors in the device that creates a system that allows you to do such a thing,”
