The cross-platform communication software was introduced alongside iOS 7 in June, and allows users to make calls to other users without needing an actual phone number or credit/ minutes. The software will use an Apple ID instead much like iMessages/ normal FaceTime.

According to the site, thee OS X 10.9.2 beta will over a “deeply integrated” version of FaceTime Audio into the messages and FaceTime OS X apps.
