Sony A5000 mirrorless camera unveiled

At CES 2014 Sony announced that they will be killing off its NEX camera brand, but they also unveiled a new camera to fill the hole, dubbed the A5000 mirrorless camera, it features a 20 megapixel APS-C sensor as well as connectivity for both NFC and Wi-Fi.

Sony also claims that it is the smallest and lightest interchangeable lens camera with Wi-Fi on the market measuring 109.6 x 62.8 x 35.7mm and weighing 210g (body only).

On the back of the camera there’s a 3-inch 180-degree tilting LCD display that has a 460k-dot resolution, as well as an integrated flash, Bionz X processor, compatibility with Sony’s E-Mount lenses, ISO of up to 16,000, a 3.5fps shooting frame rate, and a battery that is said to last 420 shots.

The Sony A5000 will be available in March 2014, available in silver, black and white for $600 in a kit with a 16-50mm motorised zoom lens.
