Best Anti-Virus Programs 2011 (Top 5)

In 2010 it was revealed that 9.2 million households in the UK have internet access, (Taken from statistics.gov [PDF]) this means that a lot of people in the UK are using the internet for a lot of time during the day, but are they protected?
It is extremely important to buy an Anti-Virus software, to make sure you are fully protected from the evils within the internet, but which do you get? There are a lot of Anti-Virus programs available for you to buy now, but it is hard to find which one is best, so we are going to find out for you.
Kaspersky’s best feature is discovering new viruses, but is not so good at finding old ones sneaking around in your computer, Kaspersky has also been designed perfectly, but the software itself can lead to some performance issues.
The installation process is also extremely streamlined, with only two screens to click-through before the installation. In conclusion I believe Kaspersky could be one of the best Anti-virus all round but does have some performance issues.

AVG Anti-Virus is my favorite Anti-Virus software available to date, this is because AVG offers a brilliant solution to an ongoing problem delivering advanced protection, but is still simple enough to use, in terms of which version to get, AVG’s free version is recording the highest downloaded, but i think it is well worth paying a bit more for the paid version, as it allows you access to some important features.
AVG’s Anti-Virus comes packed to the brim with new features, along even better performance, it includes the new social networking protection, alongside LinkScanner, Cloud Anti-Virus and a Security Network.

Avira is actually a really good security package, from which its biggest downfall is the company isn’t that well-known. The best feature Avira 10 provides is it’s detection rates, which it has been found to have a 95% successful detection rate.
Avira also includes a feature called GenericRepair which fixes any problems within your computer which have been caused by viruses.
