With now only hours to go to the Apple iPhone event information is filtering through that Apple is to announce an upgraded iPhone 4 to be known as the iPhone 4s which is to feature an 8 megapixel camera and new GPS features. Sources have told the people over at The Next Web that:
“Apple will indeed debut the new iPhone 4S today, featuring an 8-megapixel camera with “enhanced optics” and “more definitive GPS features” thanks to Apple’s new A5 processor.”
The reports echo many of the rumours which have been circling the web over the past couple of days and further strengths yesterdays discovery of listings for an iPhone 4s in both white and black being present in the latest beta release of iTunes. The new phone is also said to have double the amount of RAM of the current iPhone 4 as well as native turn by turn GPS and a feature tentatively known as “assistant” which is a nuanced speech to text application.
All is due to be revealed in under two hours time at 6pm GMT/10am PST. Be sure to follow our live coverage starting an hour before the event where we will keep you informed of all the latest news as and when it happens.
