Patients Reveal Apple’s Plan To Bring Thunderbolt To iOS

Recently PatentyApple did a bit of digging in the U.S. Patent and trademark office, only to find that Apple has just filed three new patents for their iDevices, the patents suggest that they are thinking about bringing their Thunderbolt ports to their iOS platform.
This could mean that in the near future we may be able to sync our iPads, iPhones and iPod Touches via a Thunderbolt cable, amongst the three patents there was one which seems to be an idea for create a cable which would be robust enough to handle huge throughput without overheating, making our iPhone syncing lives a lot quicker.
Alongside the new robust cables Apple also describes a scenario in which the cables could be used to connect to thunderbolt-ready displays and other devices, (I see a link to Apple’s rumoured TV) In which the document states that the connections “may be provided between a portable media player and a display, a computer and a portable media player, or between other types of devices.”
What do you think? How excited are you for the day they release it?
