LoveFilm Sets Up Deal With ABC
16/01/2012 | Nicholas Griffin
For a long time now LoveFilm hasn’t really had any competition to fend off, but since NetFlix announced their UK release, LoveFilm has been put under pressure to be better than the US giant, with the streaming service now signed up with a huge range of film and tv providers over the last 4 months.
One of the most recent being ABC studios, who will be bringing a lot more shows tot the rental service. This deal will basically allow UK subscribers to access a wide variety of shows including Lost, Grey’s Anatomy and Desperate Housewife’s, and will all be available in full seasons, rather than single episodes.
Not only will LoveFilm be providing the most recent seasons, but will also be providing its UK viewers with a catch-up service which will allow them to view previous seasons alongside the newest ones.
At the current point, LoveFilm is providing a lot more content than NetFlix, but does have some major downsides compared to its competitor currently, the biggest being the simple fact the only device you can currently stream on is the iPad, you computer or PS3/ Xbox 360.
What do you think? Which service do you prefer?
