Watch The Solar Eclipse At Home

On May 20th was the first annular solar eclipse for a few years, but if you live in the UK you wouldn’t have the chanced to actually see it.
But thankfully a clever science teacher from the University Preparatory School in Redding, CA, recorded the whole thing in 700 frames per second via his Coronado Solar Max 60 Double Stack telescope. If you don’t have a clue what that is here’s an explanation:
“The telescope has a very narrow bandpass allowing you to see the chromosphere and not the much brighter photosphere below it.”
So with the last one taking place back in 1994 it’s likely you feel bad about not seeing it and don’t really want to wait till the next one which is expected in 2023.
