A couple of days ago hackers leaked 6.5 million LinkedIn user passwords online, which fortunately where hashed and did not come with any email addresses, but that was something we didn’t know up to now, as LinkedIn’s Director, Vicente Silvera told users earlier today:
“To the best of our knowledge, no email logins associated with the passwords have been published”
This is great news, but LinkedIn are still contacting any of the affected users to change their password with a stronger replacement, containing a miz of letters, numbers and various other characters, which will stop anyone getting into your account if the emails do find their way into the wrong hands.
But if Silvera is right there should be no need to worry.
