UK Office Of Fair Trading Investigating Facebook’s Instagram Buyout
23/06/2012 | Nicholas Griffin
The Guardian recently reported that the Office of Fair Trading or OFT is looking into Facebook’s billion dollar purchase of the photo sharing app, Instagram. The reason for the investigation is due to speculation on whether Facebook may have bought Instagram to restrict photos being uploaded to other services, before they can do that however they must first determine if the deal falls under the UKs office jurisdiction, for which Facebook must release its UK photo upload market share. Facebook said this about the OFT investigating them:
“We will continue to work closely with the OFT and look forward to answering any questions that arise,”
