Like most companies Apple files a ton of patents from year to year, some of these are for actual product releases and others are just a way for them securing their ideas, the most recent patent released is one which was filed back in January 2011 and has only just been released to the public.
The patent shows something interesting that could be useful in any Apple product, a built-in charge and sync adapter attached to the clip of an iPod nano, this can then be used to connect the device directly to other devices like a speaker, plug or even a laptop/ computer.
This would all you to simply open up and then connect to a number of devices, cutting out the need for a cable and making life a whole lot easier.
