New ‘Chirp’ iPhone App Sends Files Via Birdsong

A new app has been launched on the App Store that sends data from one device to another through an audio chirp, the app is free and will allow you to share photos, links, notes and more all through your iPhone’s speaker.
Developed by Animal Systems from University College London, and once set up will play a two-second long twittering which other devices will track and instantly download the corresponding file.
These files can also be sent to multiple recipients at the same time, and will even send to a device without an internet connection, which would remember the chirp and download the content once it is re-connected.
Another great feature is that the chirp is so robust it can even cut through any noisy surroundings to reach its final receiver, its creators hope to see the app pre-installed on handsets.
iOS users can download the application today from the iTunes App Store, and there will be an Android version very soon.
