Nikon Unveils New Super-Zoom and Compact Cameras

Nikon have today unveiled an entirely new range of compact and super-zoom cameras, the first of which is their latest budget-friendly super-zoom, available for £199.99 and named the Nikon Coolpix L320 the camera packs a 16 megapixel CCD sensor, with a 26x super zoom wide-angle lens, an optical zoom range of 22.5-585mm and a 3 inch 230k dot LCD screen.

Alongside which the camera is also capable of recording at 720p, and will feature ISO ranges of 1600. Powered by AA batteries instead of the usual L-ion rechargeable battery pack, the camera also features motion detection, best shot selector and a new smart portrait system that will take a shot when the subject smiles.

The camera will also be compatible with Eye-Fi X2 cards, which will allow for photo transfers over Wi-Fi, check out the gallery for the camera below.

Alongside that, Nikon also unveiled their first APS-C sensor compact camera, called the Nikon Coolpix A, which will feature a sensor measuring 23.6 x 15.6mm.

The Coolpix A will also include a 16.2 megapixel resolution, 18.5mm f/2.8 lens, with Nikon’s Expeed 2 image processing engine, that will allow for shots with a max ISO range of 6400 which will be extendable to ISO 25,600, allowing for 14-bit raw file capture.

The camera also features Wi-Fi connectivity, 1080p video recording and a new burst mode allowing for 4fps shots.

The camera will be available for a hefty £1,000 from March 21st.

Last on the list is the new Nikon Coolpix P330, with a 1/1.7 inch sensor, the P330 will include the new backlit 12 megapixel CMOS sensor, with a 5x optical zoom delivering a 24-120mm zoom range.

The camera also features an f/1.8 aperture at the lowest zoom range, lowering to f/5.9 at full zoom, combined with the Expeed C2 processor allows for images at ISO 100-6400.

The P330 will also include Nikon’s latest vibration reduction technology, and 99 point autofocus system, as well as raw and JPEG image shooting, full 1080p video recording, GPS functionality and compatibility with the WU-1a wireless unit, which will add Wi-Fi compatibility to the camera.

The Nikon Coolpix P330 will be available from March 21st for £350.
