Next Generation Xbox Will Reportedly Cost $499 (£322)

WindowsITPro’s Paul Thurrot, has just reported some new news on the next-generation Xbox that might interest you, claiming that the new Xbox will launch in November 2013 for $499 for a standalone version in the US, or $299 when sub scripting to a two year Xbox LIVE Gold subscription.
This new information comes just a couple days after Microsoft first announced that the new console will be unveiled on May 21st at it’s campus in Redmond.
As Thurrot has been seen as a reliable source in the past for this, it’s very likely that this might just be true.
Interestingly, rumors are also suggested that the new Xbox might include a Blu-ray optical drive, something some of you might recognize as a Sony invention, which would make sense for the company, but it may mean that game discs will be supplied in a different way.
Other rumors have also suggested that it will also include an 8 core 1.6GHz processor, 8GB of DDR3 RAM, an 800MHz graphics card, USB 3.0 and gigabit Ethernet.
Of course there won’t be anything official until Microsoft’s event on May 21st.
