Only yesterday we seen leaks of the HTC Desire 200, but HTC have already decided to officially announce the new entry-level handset, revealing specs that are actually pretty decent for a budget phone.

Sized at only 107.7 x 60.8 x 11.9mm and weighing 100 grams, the Desire 200 is tiny compared to a lot of phones available on the market, but with a 3.5 inch screen that has a 480 x 320 pixel resolution, alongside a 1GHz single-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 processor and 512MB, it’s sure to get you by in the most basic of tasks.

Alongside which you will also find Beats Audio technology, a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera that packs a f2.8 aperture and a 34mm lens for shooting video in SD quality.

The Desire 200 also includes a 1,230mAh battery, alongside 4GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot with expansion capabilities of up to 32GB and both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity.

The phone will be available in Taiwan from July 19th, launching around the world shortly after.

Earlier this week the UK carrier, Three claimed via its Twitter account that HTC had pulled the Android 4.2 firmware update would no longer be coming to HTC One, however that no longer seems to be true.

Rumors are today suggesting that HTC many be about to release a new budget Android device, reportedly dubbed the HTC Desire 200, its rumored to be designed in a similar way to the HTC One, but in a smaller device.

Rumored to include a 3.5 inch, 320 x 480 resolution LCD screen, a 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB storage space, microSD card and a 1,400mAh battery, as well as running on Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich, however rumors suggest it will run on Android 4.1.

There’s no word on pricing or a launch date yet.

EnGadget have just reported something quite interesting, sourcing an Estonian website who claim to have already posted hands-on photos of what it says is the HTC One Mini, or rather it’s codename; HTC M4.

Earlier today the site, Mobile News reported that UK pre-orders had been cancelled in the UK, reporting that Facebook itself had decided to hold off on releasing the handset across the pond, and not the decision from HTC or EE/ Orange.

Of course EnGadget then decided to check this story out for themselves after hearing reports from their sources that Mobile News was correct, they decided to contact both EE and HTC to see what’s going on.

Shortly after which they received the following reply from EE, confirming the rumors and even explaining that the handset had been held back due to poor customer feedback in the US:

“Following customer feedback, Facebook has decided to focus on adding new customization features to Facebook Home over the coming months. While they are working to make a better Facebook Home experience, they have recommended holding off launching the HTC First in the UK, and so we will shortly be contacting those who registered their interest with us to let them know of this decision. Rest assured, we remain committed to bringing our customers the latest mobile experiences, and we will continue to build on our strong relationship with Facebook so as to offer customers new opportunities in the future.”

PhoneArena has today leaked a press image of the reportedly codenamed HTC M4, which if genuine may mean that HTC are looking to release a new budget version of the HTC One, and from the image, the smartphone looks like the One, but will apparently be cheaper.

Rumoured to launch at the end of Q2 2013, with specs that include a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 4.3 inch 720p display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, a 13 megapixel camera with 1080p video recording, a 1.6 megapixel front-facing camera and a 1,700mAh battery.

The phone is also expected to run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, with Sense 5.

Mophie have today released a new version of the Juice Pack, designed specifically for the HTC One, the case for which has been designed specifically to provide complete device protection without sacrificing the phones zero-gap unibody design.

The pack claims to be able to double the battery life off the HTC One after a single charge, providing 100% extra power via its 2500mAh rechargeable lithium polymer battery.

This can all be done on demand, by flicking a simple toggle switch from standby to charge mode.

You can even sync the phone whilst the case is fitted to the device, via the pass-through USB port, and the device also includes a four-light LED status indicator to display the amount of charge available.

The juice pack for the HTC One is available today in both black and silver for $99.95 from mophie.com and various other retailers in the US.

No news yet on the UK however.

Facebook unveiled their new launcher for Android a few days ago, dubbed Facebook Home, the launcher has been designed to run on top of the Android platform, bringing a new set of features to the OS (details for which can be found here.)

But the launcher may not be for everyone, which is presumably why HTC have decided to make it optional in the upcoming HTC First handset, allowing users to switch between Home and a stock version of Android, as if they downloaded the launcher from Google Play.

Which is kinda weird, especially when you notice the word “stock”, which presumably means that the handset will not run HTC’s custom Sense overlay and will actually run the same version of Android as other stock devices like the Nexus.

Users will be able to make this change via the settings, after the HTC First hits stores that is.

The HTC First will launch in the US, exclusively on AT&T from April 12th for $99 on contract, launching on EE in the summer here in the UK.

During the Facebook event yesterday, Facebook unveiled their new Facebook Home UI alongside the new HTC First handset, which has today been confirmed for UK released by EE,, who have said they will have exclusivity to the phone when it launches this summer.

Packing a 4.3 inch display, dual core processor, Android Jelly Bean and a 5 megapixel camera, the HTC First will be available on EE in red, black, white and pale blue sometime this summer.

Which is a little less specific than the US release date (April 12th), with EE simply stating: “”The HTC First will be exclusively available this summer on EE’s superfast 4GEE service, with details on pricing and availability to be announced in due course.”

So I suppose we will just have to wait for more information.

During their event, Facebook announced that they will be working with various manufacturers to bring their new Facebook Home UI to phones made specifically for the new interface, one manufacturer in particular is HTC, who will be creating the first handset to hit the market, coincidentally called the HTC First.

The HTC First will be available exclusively with AT&T in the US for $99.99 on contract or a one of $449.99 off contract, and will be available in While, Black, Red and Pale Blue starting April 12. Pre-orders are available from today through AT&T’s website here.

There’s no news on a UK release date yet though, however Mark did say after AT&T’s presentation that he was excited to see Peter Chou (HTC’s CEO), work with their partners, EE and Orange in Europe, so we should be hearing more soon.

Like many others, it’s likely you have been waiting quite some time for the HTC One to finally hit the shelves in the UK, thankfully that wait is now over as Three UK have just announced the phone will be available from today.

And they even have a number of options and plans for you to choose from when buying the headset, the first being the Unlimited Internet 500 package, which will cost £34 a month and will grant all-you-can-eat-data, 500 minutes and 5000 texts.

Or if you prefer there’s also the option to choose the One Plan, at only £36 a month, you get the same unlimited data, 2000 any network minutes, 5000 Three minutes and 5000 texts.

And there’s even a Pay As You Go option, allowing you to buy the phone off contract for £479.99, on either a £10 top-up plan which will give you 500MB of data, 100 minutes and 3000 texts, or the £15 plan which has unlimited data and 300 minutes, and if you need it, you can also add-on Tethering for £5 or International Saver rates for £15 a month.

So far only the silver version is available, but you can pre-order the black version at the same prices.

Earlier this month HTC sent news that to be honest, we were all a little disappointed about, stating that they ”will start fulfilling pre-orders by end March in certain markets and will roll out to more markets as we approach April.”

Now it seems a HTC executive has felt the need to explain the situation, talking to The Wall Street Journal about some of the manufactures issues with shipping and suppliers, stating that HTC had ”changed its order forecasts drastically and frequently following last year’s unexpected slump in shipments.” meaning that ”HTC has had difficulty in securing adequate camera components as it is no longer a tier-one customer.”

But what does this mean for the company? Well for a starters it means that they will be launching at the same time as Samsung’s Galaxy S4 in April which is not a good place to be for an Android manufacture  alongside this they may even be dangerously close to the expected iPhone announcement, which could happen anytime between April and July.

It seems the HTC One’s success purely depends on whether customers are willing to wait for it.

HTC have just confirmed that the HTC One will now be delayed from its original launch date of March 15th. According to the manufacture they “will start fulfilling pre-orders by end March in certain markets and will roll out to more markets as we approach April.”

There’s no word on the reason for this delay, but could prove fatal for the company, since Samsung will be announcing their new handset on March 14th a lot of their customers may just go elsewhere.

There’s no word if this delay has been extended across the world yet.

HTC recently announced their latest smartphone to hit the market, the HTC One and you may be wondering where you might be able to pick up one, thankfully we are here to help, rounding up all the places in the UK where the phone will be available from launch.

One of the first to offer the phone will be O2, who will be stocking the phone in black from free for £477 a month on a 24 month contract, for this you will receive unlimited calls and texts as well as 2GB of data, you can pre-order the phone from o2.co.uk/shop.

If 4G LTE takes your fancy, EE will also be supplying the handset for £69.99 on a 24 month contract, costing around £41 a month, this will include unlimited calls and texts well as 1GB of 4G data, if hat’s not too pricey for you, you can pre-order the phone at shop.ee.co.uk.

Three will also be stocking the phone, available in both black and silver, you can pick up the HTC One with them on one of two 24 month contacts, unlimited internet 500, with 50 minutes, 5,000 texts and all you can eat data for £34 a month (the phone will cost £69 one-off), or the One Plan, also with unlimited data, you will get 2,000 minutes, 5,000 minutes to Three numbers and 5,000 texts for £36 a month, iff you prefer the phone is also available on Pay As You Go for £479.99.

Vodafone will also stock the phone as part of their “4G-ready” handsets, meaning that when they activate their LTE network, you will be able to switch to one of their LTE plans. Until then you will have to stick with the normal deals I’m afraid. For which you can pick up the phone in either black or silver from free for £42 a month on a 24 month contract, this will include unlimited calls, texts and 2GB of data. You can pre-order from shop.vodafone.co.uk.

Some of you who already own a HTC phone might have been a little annoyed to know that the software on your phone is now a little outdated, with the introduction of Sense 5, HTC’s Android overlay got a little old. So you might be pleased to know that HTC have just announced that they will be updating the HTC One X, HTC One X+, HTC One S and HTC Butterfly with the new software.

Confirmed in a Facebook comment, responded to a HTC One X owner, the company revealed the following.

“HTC will be offering upgrades to some of its existing devices in the next few months, including global variants of HTC One X, One X+, One S and the HTC Butterfly. Also, note that some features enabled by the new HTC One hardware will not be available in the software updates.”

Basically the top devices of 2012 will be receiving an update, but not specifically Sense 5 However, Android Police claim to have received confirmation that these devices will indeed receive the Sense 5 upgrade.
