Motorola have today confirmed that the Motorola Razer HD will be making its way to the UK, following its launch in the US last year. The phone includes a 4.7 inch display, 4G connectivity and runs the latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS.

However the main feature of the phone is in fact its battery, with 20 hours of juice from a single charge.

The back of the phone has also been made with a smooth material called Kevlar, alongside protection, of course. Alongside the Kevlar the phone is also extremely thin, at 9mm.

Andrew Morley, the vice-president and general manager for UK & Ireland division of Motorola Mobility said the following about the phone:

“As our lives get busier, we need a handset that can keep up with the pace and with that in mind, the Motorola Razr HD was born, a smartphone that’s always ready to go, whenever you need it” said Andrew Morley, vice-president and general manager UK & Ireland, Motorola Mobility.

“This doesn’t mean we should compromise on quality, as alongside this high-performance battery comes a 4.7-inch RAZR sharp HD screen, impossibly thin design and faster surfing of the net through 4G capabilities – all the features we know are critical for consumers.”

Motorola Razr HD is available to buy from Amazon.co.uk, Expansys.com, Clove.co.uk, Unlocked-Mobiles.com, Very.co.uk, handtec.co.uk and Fonehouse.co.uk SIM-free, there’s no news on carriers yet however.

Motorola’s first phone with Intel Inside was the RAZR i, which was announced back in December running the Android OS.

And it seems that phone was a success as the company have now announced a Chinese variant named the RAZR i MT788, which will feature a 2GHz Intel Atom Proceessor, 4.5 inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 960 x 540, Gorilla Glass, 8 MP rear camera and MicroSD expansion up to 32GBs, all running on Android 4.0 ICS.

Which as you may notice is similar to the original phone, but once you start to actually look at the phone you see the differences, with new external design and for some reason a smaller 1,735mAh battery instead of the previous 2,000mAh oe, there’s also only 4GBs of in-built memory compared to the previous 16GB model.

It’s not all bad however as the front facing camera is now 1.3 MP instead of 0.3.

One of the biggest features that Motorola highlighted during the announcement event was the fact that it will come with the Chrome browser installed, which is certainly to be expected.

The device will be shipped with Ice Cream Sandwich, but as mentioned before it will be compatible with Android’s new 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, which will hit the phone later this year.

The main difference between the Maxx and the normally Razr is its battery life, which can last up to 27 hours playing music over LTE, 10 hours of playing video and 21 hours talktime.

Both of which will be shipped before Christmas.

According to a source speaking to Hot Hardware, Motorola are planning to release the Droid Razr HD and Razr Maxx HD in time for October.

The source stated that Motorola are planning for an October release so they can sell enough of the Droid Razr and Razr Maxx smartphones before its release, which obviously means Motorola may push the release date back if the devices haven’t sold well enough.

Nothing has been confirmed yet, but there are rumors that both phones will feature a 720p screen but the Maxx HD will pack a larger battery, the Droid Razr HD is also rumored to come with a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor as well as LTE connectivity.

There’s also rumors that the Razr HD will have world-roaming capabilities, so might end up in the UK which links with the recent leak of the phone being tested on the Vodaphone network.

The wait has most defiantly been a long one, but there is some good news as Android Central have reported that Motorola’s Razr and Razr Maxx will be getting the Ice Cream Sandwich update from yesterday.

There is a catch as Android Central added that this will only be coming to “select” devices which means that they will be running a soak test, updating a select number of users early in order to collect feedback to see if the update caused any problems.

US customers will received this update in June of this year which means Europe has had a long wait for ICS, Motorola have said this was due to some issues that needed to be ironed out before its release.

If you’re one of the lucky ones you should receive the update over the coming weeks according to Motorola.

The Ferrari 458 has to be one of the nicest looking cars on the market to-date, and now so is Motorola’s new i867 which is today making it’s way to Brazil.

The i847 has been designed to more or less mimic the design of the 458, with the iconic Ferrari red, mixed with smooth cross-cut corners, there are some things that let the phone down however, the first is it’s 3.1 inch touchscreen, the second is the 3MP camera with 4X zoom and the third is the 200MB of storage (in-built) with up to 32GB capacity.

And finally the fourth and final one is the price which will set you back R$ 1,499 (£471) without a contract or R$ 799 (£251) with one, which is pretty bad for the specs, but I think I would still buy one for its amazing looks.

Check out the press release below for more information.

Motorola have just released a press release stating their plans to release the newest Droid RAZR Maxx here in the UK sometime around mid-May, with pre-orders starting today.

When the RAZR Maxx does hit the UK the device will be available from both Clove and Expansys for around £430, alongside Amazon who are also planning to sell the device.

[showhide type="pressrelease"]

Motorola Mobility Brings RAZR™ MAXX to the UK

Up the ante with Motorola RAZR MAXX – giving you the longest talk time of any smartphone1

April 26, 2012

BASINGSTOKE, UK – April 26, 2012 – When it comes to buying a new smartphone, pocket appeal and a long battery life are two of the top priorities according to a recent report from Strategy Analytics2. So step in the Motorola RAZR™ MAXX – which delivers this and so much more!

With its impossibly thin and lightweight design, this iconic handset boasts features with the wow factor and a battery that can handle even the most demanding lifestyle. The Android™-powered Motorola RAZR MAXX is expected to be available in the UK from mid-May, so you can start talking, texting, typing, watching and more… for even longer.

RAZR MAXX delivers up to 17.61 hours of talk time so you won’t spend your day plugged into the wall. Similarly, its 1GB RAM combined with a dual-core 1.2GHz processor and Android operating system will ensure you are always entertained, delivering a lightning-fast user interface and the power to multi-task like never before. You can rock your playlists while checking email, breeze through photos – all day, every day, all at the same time.

Still seriously thin at just 8.99mm, RAZR MAXX is the exact opposite of frail. It’s made strong with KEVLAR® fibre, while Corning® Gorilla® Glass defends the hyper-vibrant 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Advanced display from scratches and scrapes. And every part of the Motorola RAZR MAXX is protected by a splashguard coating, which even extends to the electrical boards inside, ensuring a go anywhere, do everything attitude.

Smart Actions, the remarkably intelligent application exclusive to Motorola Mobility, pushes the limits even further by automating everyday tasks based on triggers like time of day, location, battery levels and more. Never forget to put your phone on silent in meetings, turn up the volume when your boss calls and even maximize your last ounce of power by dimming the display and turning off power hungry services.

Motorola RAZR MAXX also comes preloaded with the Motorola MotoCast™ app3, giving you the power to stream or download content from a home or work computer straight to the device so your docs, pics and music are always available – anytime, anywhere. No uploading to a third party means no wasted time or forgetting to upload that crucial presentation, and everything stays protected, right on your computer.

“Since we re-imagined the iconic RAZR brand, the Motorola RAZR has wowed consumers across the globe by combining the pinnacle of design with mind-blowing power,” said Victoria McManus, UK marketing director, Motorola Mobility. “RAZR MAXX builds on those same principles, delivering an incredible battery life that is perfect for people who want to push their smartphone to the limits and banish the low battery beep to history.”

Motorola smartphones offer some of the industry’s most powerful enterprise features available, and Motorola RAZR MAXX is no exception, including government-grade encryption and productivity tools that rival the capabilities of desktop PCs. Collaborate in real time with GoToMeeting® and create and edit files right on your phone with QuickOffice®.

Availability

Motorola RAZR MAXX will be available for pre-order from Clove, Expansys, Amazon.co.uk and other Motorola authorised resellers, with an expected delivery date of mid-May. For more information on Motorola RAZR MAXX click here.
