Microsoft has had a very busy day today at their BUILD conference, from this morning they started off by unveiling the new Windows 8 OS to developers, but have just made everyone day even better by releasing the first ever WIndows 8 tablet.

The tablet has been built by Samsung, who have called it the Samsung Windows Developer Preview PC, which is more or less the same as Samsung’s Series 7 tablet, but will be released with the new Windows 8 OS pre-loaded, the tablet itself features a 11.6 inhc Super PLS display, a dual core 1.6GHz Intel i5 processor alongside 4 GB’s of RAM and a 64GB Solid State Drive.

The device also comes with a USB, Micro USB and HDMI ports, alongside an included dock allowing you to plug in your mouse and keyboard, at the moment Microsoft has only built 5000 units with they will be giving to developers completely free, to allow them to build apps for the new platform.

As well as the free tablet Microsoft is also giving their developers free mobile data access for a year, making Microsoft probably the hottest developer platform around at the moment, which will hopefully entice some really good developers in so we can get some cool apps to play around with on the official release date.

The device which has been given to developers is most lily to never actually make it to market, but as Samsung and Microsoft have already built up a relationship through computers, I would bet on Samsung making a variation for Microsoft’s new OS.

What do you think? Are you a Microsoft developer, tell us what you think of the device? Would you buy this device if it came to market?
