Nikon has today unveiled two new compact system camera the Nikon J3 and the Nikon S1, the J3 capable of shooting at 15fps with the worlds smallest body for a CSC with a CX format sensor, the camera measure just 101×60.5×28.8mm .
The camera also includes a Slow View mode that allows users to view their records in slow motion, there’s also a Live Image Control which shows a preview of the effects of settings before shooting.
There’s also a new Snapshot function and Advanced Movie Mode, with settings adjustments in Program, Shutter Priority, Aperture Priority and Manual Exposure modes.
The camera includes a 14.2 megapxel sensor, with a sensitivity range of ISO 160-6400 and the camera can capture 32 shots with a single burst of continuous shooting at 15 fps and 20 shots with single burst of continuous shooting at 60 fps.
The J3 will be available in 5 colours silver, red, white, black and beige.
Alongside the J3 Nikon also announced the Nikon S1 as an entry-level device which includes the same functions as the other Nikon 1 cameras with a Slow View mode new GUI, intuitive control and a 10.1 megapixel CX format sensor, the S1 has a sensitivity range of ISO 100-6400 and can capture 15 shots with a single burst of continuous shooting at 15 or 60 fps.
Both of the new cameras will also feature Nikon’s EXPEED 3A image processing engine, the S1 will be available in black, pink, red, white and khaki.
There’s no availability or pricing structures announced yet however.
