Yet another smartwatch competitor has been announced, and this time it’s part of a new crowdfunding campaign. Called the Com 1, the smartwatch has been designed to specifically run on Google’s own Android Wear operating system, allowing it to access a range of apps that includes music, maps, fitness, Hangouts, IFITT, Pinterest, Path Talk, Google Keep and calendar.
The watch has also been fitted with a 1.6 inch AMOLED display that offers a pixel resolution of 320 x 320, and comes alongside Bluetooth 4.0 EDR (BLE Compliant) connectivity, alongside WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n at 2.4/5GHz.
Inside the watch there’s also a 1GHz XBurst based Igenic JZ4775 processor that is support by 256KB L2 cache RAM and 4GB of eMMC RAM for apps and media.
And to top that off, the Com 1 features a slim aluminum or stainless steel body that is only 10mm, and has been designed to be IP67 compliant, meaning it is waterproof up to 1m. The watch is also available in the user’s choice of aircraft grade aluminum 6061.
On top of that it also has a battery life that is said to last up to 2 days, alongside a 3-axis gyroscope, an accelerometer, Pedometer, GPS, Heart Rate Sensor, and sensors for pressure, humidity and temperature.
