The first Android One smartphone has today launched in the UK, designed by the Indian manufacturer Karbonn the handset has been dubbed the Karbonn Sparkle V.

Packing a 4.5 inch display the Karbonn Sparkle V features a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 4GB of in-built storage.

The handset also features a microSD card slot that can support cards sized up to 32GB and comes with a 2 megapixel front-facing camera, with a 5 megapixel on the back.

It also currently runs on Android 4.4 KitKat, however it has been guaranteed to get the new Android 5.0 update in the near future.

The Android One scheme was first launched in September and allows handset manufacturers to make budget handsets with decent specifications that have been set by Google themselves.

Handsets within the program are also guaranteed to get updates for the next two years.
