The Entertainment Software Association (the organisers of E3) today announced that this years E3 was one of the biggest yet, with over 50,000 attendees.
This was for the whole period of the convention, which took place between June 16th and June 18th, 2015, and is the first time that an E3 convention has crossed the 50,000 attendee milestone since 2006, with numbers dropping heavily after a format change.
Here’s a chart that Polygon released to show the change from previous year’s attendees:
However these numbers where heightened slightly due to the fact that around 5,000 attendees that were present during the show, were not directly related to the media or industry, but were there on invitation by a number of various exhibitors, boosting the shows attendance somewhat.
The Entertainment Software Association also announced that over 274 exhibitors were at the show, which up from last year’s 187 exhibitors.
