Sky have today announced that they will be showing the 85th Academy Awards live on February 24th on its own dedicated channel called Sky Movies Oscars HD, alongside a SD channel for those without HDTV’s.

The ceremony will be broadcast live from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, presented by the creator of The Family Guy and star and director of Ted Seth MacFarlane.

Alongside the show, Sky will also be broadcasting The Oscars 2013: Red Carpet Live on Sky Living HD/ SD, starting at 11.30pm on Sunday, which will be followed by the actual awards running from 1.30am to 4am on February 25th, only shown on Sky Movies Oscars as previously mentioned.

Alongside it, the channel will also play host to the screening of 10 of 2012’s Oscar-winning films. Starting on February 11th as part of the Sky Movies subscription service.
