Apple has today launched an 8GB version of the iPhone 5C in the Europe, China and Australia, now available in France and Germany as well as the UK.

This comes as an attempt from Apple to boost the sales of the iPhone 5C by launching a cheaper model, featuring the same specs as the normal version that was originally announced but with 8GB of storage.

In terms of specs the 8GB iPhone 5C will feature a 4 inch Retina display with a 1136 x 640 pixel resolution, an Apple A6 processor, 1GB of RAM, an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera, a 1.2 megapixel front-facing camera.

The handset will also run on Apple’s latest mobile OS, iOS 7.1.

In the UK the 8GB iPhone 5C will be priced at £429, which is £40 cheaper than the 16GB which retails for £469, and £120 cheaper than the £549 32GB model.
