It seems that whenever we mention the word “copyright” here on TechNutty it’s never good news, and today is no different as a 9-year old girl from Scansinava got her Winnie the Pooh laptop after an anti-piracy raid by the police.

According to TorrentFreak the police raider her home after the anti-piracy group, CIAPC found the girl to be illegally downloading copyrighted material, before which they had the cheek to demand a 600 euro fine and the signing of a non-disclosure agreement from the girls father, of course the father did not comply leading to the raid on the family’s home.

The girl’s father explained the whole situation with the following statement:

“I got the feeling that there had been people from the MAFIA demanding money at the door.”

“We have not done anything wrong with my daughter. If adults do not always know how to use a computer and the web, how can you assume that children or the elderly – or a 9-year-old girl – knows what they are doing at any given time online?”

“This is the pinnacle of absurdity. I can see artists are in a position, but this requires education and information, not resource-consuming lawsuits.”

Personally I find this absolutely disgusting that the police can even harass a little girl in this way for an album that probably cost no more than a few kit kats.
