Pre-announcements for IFA 2013 are literally coming in faster than we can report them, with Acer currently in the lead, they have today announced the release of new desktops, tablets and even a new phablet, and there still not done yet, with the announcement of the updated Aspire R7, they have just announced the first updated laptop for this year’s IFA.

featuring a 10-point multi-touch 15.6 inch 1080p display, the notebook now includes a new Active Pen that can be used with all four angled modes as a tool for things like drawing and even typing.

The pen can also be used with an extra called MemoryBinder for drawing on photos, as well as ScreenGrasp for screengrabbing with the pen, or ScrapBoard for collecting images and ideas from various sources onto a scrapboard, and finally AccuFinger which helps you make more accurate selections with your finger.

Alongside the pen, Acer have also added the latest Intel Haswell processor which will be featured with the already available 12GB RAM and 1TB HDD (or 256 SSD) as well as the 2 8 watt speakers, backlit keyboard and the new Windows 8.1 operating system

The new Acer Aspire R7 will be available in Europe, the Middle East and Africa in late 2013, priced at £850 or €1,000 depending on your currency.
