Acer has this week announced a new gaming monitor that has been dubbed the Acer XB280HK, and is the world’s first 4K Ultra HD monitor with NVIDIA’s G-SYNC technology in-built according to Acer.

The display also features a 29 inch LED backlit panel, with a resolution of 3840 x 2160, which is four times the resolution than Full 1080p HD. The display is also flicker-less and low-dimming, featuring ComfyView technologies that aim to reduce eye strain when using the display.

“With a GeForce GTX-powered PC, NVIDIA G-SYNC display technology synchronizes the display’s refresh rates to the GPU to eliminate screen tearing and minimize display stutter and input lag to deliver smoother, faster, more breathtaking gaming experiences. Scenes appear instantly, objects look sharper and more vibrant, and gameplay is more fluid and responsive providing gamers with significant performance advantages,” Acer explained in their press statement.

In terms of ports the XB280HK also includes 4 USB 3.0 ports and a DisplayPort for linking the display with your desktop or laptop.

The Acer XB280HK gaming monitor will begin shipping in Q2 2014 in Pan America, EMEA, Japan and Taiwan.
