Activision announced later last night, the release off Call of Duty: Ghosts, which will be the next game in the Call of Duty series, available from November 5th, the site will include a new gameplay experience, new story, setting, cast and a brand new engine.

Here’s the description from Mark Rubin, the executive producer of Infinity Ward:

“Everyone was expecting us to make Modern Warfare 4, which would have been the safe thing to do. But we’re not resting on our laurels, we saw the console transition as the perfect opportunity to start a new chapter for Call of Duty. So we’re building a new sub-brand, a new engine, and a lot of new ideas and experiences for our players. We can’t wait to share them with our community.”

Alongside the announcement, Activision also released a trailer, which doesn’t feature any gameplay or storyline information, but there us some new characters.

Pre-orders for Call of Duty: Ghosts from retail outlets worldwide today, available on the PC, PS3, Xbox 360 and next generation platforms.

Activision says that it will be showing more about the game on Microsoft’s May 21st event.
