Adobe ditched their previous Creative Cloud subscription for Lightroom Mobile back in October for iOS, and now it is finally doing the same for users of Android.

This comes with the version 1.4 update for Android, which makes Lightroom Mobile a completely free to use application.

This means you no longer need to subscribe to Adobe’s Creative Cloud subscription, or any subscription for that matter, however if you do want to sync to a desktop app you will need that subscription.

That shouldn’t be a problem however, given that Adobe’s Lightroom photo editing application is one of the best available on mobiles, allowing you to edit raw DNG files, with the ability to copy and paste objects, and add various effects or extras with a number of tools.
