Dell has this week announced a new gaming notebook that is its thinnest notebook to date. Dubbed the Alienware 13, it features a 13-inch IPS touchscreen display, with a 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution, and measures only 1 inch and weighing only 4.4 pounds.

However this will be featured in two separate screen specifications, one in the with a 720p, 200 nit TN-panel that has a 45 per cent colour gamut, and the other features a 1080p, 360 nits IPS panel.

The notebook also features NVIDIA’s Maxwell architecture via the GTX 860M mobile GPU that allows for 1440p gaming resolutions.

It will also be supported by a range of processors from the Intel Haswell Core i range, along with 16GB of performance RAM. There’s also two solid state disk drives and a performance cooling system.

The notebook can also be configured with either Windows 7 Pro or Windows 8.1.
