Alienware announced a few days ago that they will now be offering a version of the popular X51 desktop with Ubuntu Linux pre-installed, making it one of the most high-powered Linux machines available for purchase like this, with a dual-core or quad-core Intel Core i3/i5 or i7 microprocessor and a Nvidia GeForce GT 645 or GTX 660 GPU with 1GB or 1.5GB of memory, it could make for a pretty powerful Steam box.

Especially when you look at its simplistic design and small form-factor.

The X51 can also pack up to 16GB of DDR3 RAM, a 2TB hard drive and optical Blu-Ray drive, costing anywhere between $599 and $1049, which is about $100 cheaper than the normal model.

However I cannot seem to find anything on a UK release date or pricing, so it’s either not coming here, or its yet to be announced, if it does launch however you can expect it will do say for about £499-£949 but don’t take my word on that last part.
