Today Amazon launched their Amazon Echo Dot home assistant in the UK.

This launch comes after the device has been available in the US for some time now, from today it is available in the UK for from £49.99.

You can also pick up a multi-pack with 5 and get one free, or a multi-pack of 10 and get 2 free. It works in a similar way to that of the normal Amazon Echo, however, it’s not as large as the normal Echo, with a smaller speaker in-built.

It also has a port for connecting external speakers.

Jorrit Van der Meulen, VP, Amazon Devices EU said the following about the launch:

“The team is innovating at a rapid pace with Echo and Alexa, and they are already adding new skills for UK customers, now you can order your favourite items using just your voice, get additional sports information, and much more. Customers are loving Alexa and Echo, and with shopping, ESP, and more features to come it’s only going to get better.”
