It has been confirmed, the Amazon Echo is officially making its way across the pond.

Announced by Amazon during an event in the UK this morning, the company revealed that they will begin to roll out Alexa to international markets from this fall.

This will start with the UK and Germany, and comes after Amazon originally launched the Echo speaker back in Late 2014 in the US and comes as great news for those who have been waiting for it in the UK.

In case you don’t already know, the Amazon Echo is a cylindrical speaker that uses a voice-activated assistant called Alexa to carry out set tasks around your home.

It will connect to your home’s WiFi network, and will respond to your spoken commands, answer your questions and complete actions like setting alarms or controlling your Philips Hue lighting.

The Amazon Echo will be available in the UK on September 28th, it will also be available alongside the Amazon Echo Dot, with both black and white versions available in both versions.

They are both available for pre-order today and they are available for £149. If you are a Prime customer, you will also get £50 off that price tag.
