After Zavvi listed the Xbox One at £400 we figured that would be sticking price, however that may not be the case as Amazon Germany today posted a listing which shown the next-gen console priced at 599 Euros or around £510.

That is actually quite expensive, and is the first time a console has been listed at this sort of price, the Xbox 360 releasing from £209 and the PS3 launching originally at £425, but is it enough to put some buyers off?

However this could simply be a marketing ploy by Amazon and not an actual confirmation, and the internet service could simply be setting pre-order prices high so they can then drop the price at release.

There’s currently no information on the pricing for the PS4, but we expect they may be set at around the same price.

[Update] has now listed the console at an even pricier £599.
