We can say with great conviction that Amazon will soon announced 2013 edition of their Kindle Fire, however until today we haven’t seen much to point towards that.

As I said, until today as BGR are now reporting a set of leaked specs for the Kindle Fire 3, reporting that instead of using the Snapdragon 800 processor, the 2013 model will use a 1.5GHz dual-core Texas Instruments OMAP4 4470 processor with a PowerVR 5GX544 GPU, which is the same chip that is currently used in versions of the original Kindle FIre HD, apart from the increase of speed from the previous 1.2GHz.

Rumors also suggest that the 3rd generation device will stick to 1GB of RAM, and will run on Android 4.2.2 with a HD display that packs a 1,280 x 800 pixel resolution.

BGR are also claiming that the device will support a new design with sharper angles on the back of the tablet.

Obviously, Amazon declined to comment on any of these rumors, so we don’t know how true any of these rumors are, however BGR says that the new tablets could be unveiled  as soon as later this month.
