Today Bloomberg released a report that stated that Amazon may be working on an update to their voice-activated personal assistant, the Echo.

In this report, they claim that Amazon plans to launch a new and more premium version of the Echo, which they say will feature a 7-inch screen and a better higher-grade speaker.

Currently, the Amazon Echo can only be controlled with your voice, so by adding a screen, Amazon could add a lot more control, and even easier methods for completing various tasks, such as home automation. It is expected that this new Echo will also run an optimised version of Fire OS.

According to the report, this new Fire OS integration will still allow for the current voice-control, but with newer capabilities, such as pinning photos to the screen or showing information that the Echo finds for you.

Bloomberg also said that the speaker will be able to tilt upward to allow it to be visible while you are standing.

The report states that Amazon will keep selling the Dot, Tap, and Echo speakers after the launch, which is expected to be at some point in 2017.
