Amazon is one of the biggest online retailers around and about to bring some of those expertise with a new creative centre in London which will house hundreds of software developers and engineers.

The center will be based near London’s ‘Silcon Roundabout’ area, which is situated near the Old Street area of London and is part of the governments new Tech City project.

Amazon have said that the center will focus on producing the “next generation of TV and film services”, adding that “London is a hotbed of tech talent and testament to that fact is Amazon choosing the capital as the location for the new global digital media development centre.”

Boris Johnson, who always comes out with some amazing quotes said that their decision was a “splendid feather in our cap”, adding that “We thank them for their vote of confidence.”

When the center opens it will consist of eight floors and will house Amazon’s existing staff members within their Pushbutton and Lovefilm teams although they have said they will be recruiting more members in the future.
