Amazon has been slowly expanding its one hour delivery service, Amazon prime Now in the UK, originally it was only available within certain areas of London, but as of this week it is now available in 3 cities across the UK.
Having already been available in London and Birmingham, this third city is Newcastle, allowing customers in Newcastle and surrounding areas to access over 15,000 products and get it delivered in under 60 minutes.
“We’re thrilled to expand our one-hour delivery service to Newcastle, our latest Prime Now city in the UK,” said Christopher North, Managing Director at Amazon.co.uk. “We have already received great response from Prime Now customers in London and Birmingham and we’ve seen high demand on everything from essentials such as nappies and toiletries to must-have video games and toys—we are excited to delivering to more customers in record-breaking time.”
Amazon also talked about their fastest Prime Now delivery to date, which they say was a USB cable and a set of replacement electric toothbrush heads, which they say were ordered at 20:35, shipped from Amazon’s Wimbledon delivery station and then delivered to the customer’s address in Morden at 20:49, which is a strange time to desperately need a toothbrush.
You can use the service now if you are a Prime Now subscriber and reside within London, Birmingham or Newcastle, it costs £6.99 per delivery.
