Today Amazon announced the launch of their latest Kindle device, the Kindle Oasis.

This Kindle is a little more interesting than some of the previous devices that Amazon has launched in the Kindle range for two huge reasons.

The first is that it features the highest resolution on a Kindle to date, featuring a 7-inch display that packs in 200 ppi. The second is that it is the first Kindle to be completely waterproof, allowing it to be taken pretty much anywhere and be good to go.

In fact, Amazon says that the Kindle Oasis is their “most advanced Kindle ever”.

Dave Limp, Senior Vice President, Amazon Devices and Services explained more with the following:

“Ten years ago, we introduced our first Kindle with the mission of delivering any book ever written in 60 seconds or less.”

“With a larger 7-inch, 300 ppi display, waterproof design, and Audible built right in, the all-new Kindle Oasis is our most advanced Kindle ever. Its thin, light, and waterproof design allows readers to stay engaged in the author’s world in even more places than ever before.”
