According to various sources, Android 4.1 Ice Cream Sandwich is starting to make its way to Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 2.

The news comes from the site SamMobile, who claim that Android 4.1.1 has started to pop up in Galaxy Tab 2.7.0 devices within France, and suggests that the rest of Europe will soon get the same treatment.

The update will be available to download over the air thankfully as it means you won’t have to use Samsung’s amazingly bad Kies software update.

Once downloaded you will receive the new Project Butter UI, which is a lot quicker than Android 4.0 devices, alongside butter the new update also adds Google’s new PA service named, Google Now.

If we hear only more official news we will let you know.
