[Update] Google has posted a video of the unveiling of the Android Nougat statue, check it out.

[Original Story] For some time now we haven’t had an official name for the next version of Android, simply calling it Android N.

However, as of today, Google has confirmed that there is a better name for this version. They revealed the news on the Twitter, announcing that the version is not named Nutella, Nerds or any other branded food (as KitKat was previously) and instead it will be called Android Nougat.

You can try out Android Nougat today, it is currently available in beta for a number of handsets, allowing you to take a peek at some of the new features like split screen, a new settings bar and faster app switching.
