Sony’s Xperia Z1 has only just been rumoured to get Android 4.4 KitKat, despite the smartphone being originally announced earlier this year.

Previously the smartphone ran Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, however according to various sources the new update to Android 4.4 is rolling out, starting in Russia, Italy and Indoesia according to reports, the build has the version number 14.4.A.0.108.

Despite these reports, no change log has been made available yet, however it is likely that it will include all of the current basic features for Android 4.4.

In terms of specifications, the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact has a 4.3 inch display with a 720p resolution, alongside a Snapdragon 800 SoC processor, with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, a microSD card slot, WiFi and Bluetooth.

The camera also has a 20.7 megapixel camera on the back, a 2 megapixel camera on the front and a 2,300 mAh battery inside.

As of yet there’s no official information on the update for the smartphone, however the easiest way to find out about it would be to check for an update on your handset.
