Apple are expected to launch OS X Yosemite next month, we know this because of a couple of things, the first is actually the main part of today’s story, and is that the company is now accepting applications for the new OS for Mac.

Alongside that OS X Yosemite has also reached the Gold Master status for developers, meaning that the system is extremely close to be ready for the public.

Yosemite adds a number of new features for app developers, allowing them to not only take advantage of Apple’s new iOS-like design for OS X, but also functionality for app extensions, the new Swift programming language, and new in-game technologies.

OS X Yosemite also has new versions of Safari, iCloud and more, with the introduction of iCloud Drive alongside it.

With the Swift language now at its final stage, developers can submit their Swift written apps to the Mac App Store from today.

Apple has also released the 4th public beta preview of OS X Yosemite, and are expected to release a new version of the iPad at some point later this month.
