The long-awaited iPad 3 event is finally a few hours away, but Apple seems to be a bit ahead of itself releasing a new ‘Catalogs’ category to the App Store, with a number of applications already listed in the section.

AT the moment you won’t be able to find this new category in your iDevices App Store, but by visiting Apple’s web-based store where a huge list of apps have been added.

Joaquin Ruiz, CEO of Catalog Spree believes this could be something to do with the new iPad launch as an added feature for the new iPad:

Ruiz said in an email, “Adding an app category is not something that Apple does lightly and we believe Apple’s decision reflects the importance of this usecase in the Apple App Store ecosystem.”
