With the announcement of the new iPhone X, iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus today, Apple revealed that they are finally getting into wireless charging, but they aren’t simply building wireless charging into these devices, they are also releasing their own wireless charging mat.

It will be launched within their new AirPower range, which has been designed to allow you to charge your Apple Watch, AirPods, and iPhone at the same time.

This happens over the AirPower mat, which is a Qi wireless charging mat that can be plugged into the wall and then transfer power to your devices over contact, simply place your device on it.

It will charge the new iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and the iPhone X, however, it will probably also charge pretty much any Qi compatible device since it uses that standard.

On top of that, it can charge the Apple Watch Series 3, and possibly the Series 1 and Series 2 on top. And it can charge AirPods when using the optional wireless charging case.

Sadly, we don’t know when AirPower will be released, or the price that it will be released for. We will update you as we hear more.
