Today Apple has released a celebration of the design work that they have completed over the last 20 years.
It was dedicated to the memory of Seve Jobs and looks to highlight Apple’s design process and their products with 450 photos of the technology that they have released over the last 20 years.
It has been called Designed by Apple in California, the photos in the book were shot by Andrew Zuckerman and feature high contrast white backgrounds.
The Chief Design Officer at Apple, Jony Ive said the following about the book:
“While this is a design book, it is not about the design team, the creative process or product development. It is an objective representation of our work that, ironically, describes who we are. It describes how we work, our values, our preoccupations and our goals. We have always hoped to be defined by what we do rather than by what we say.”
“We strive, with varying degrees of success, to define objects that appear effortless. Objects that appear so simple, coherent and inevitable that there could be no rational alternative.”
The book will be available in two sizes, a 10.2-inch by 12.75-inch for $199 and a 13-inch by 16.25-inch for $299.
Both of these new devices will be available from Apple’s online store and from select Apple Stores from November 16th.
