Apple has finally completed its acquisition of Beats Electronics for $3 billion, announcing the news on the Apple website earlier today.

“Today we are excited to officially welcome Beats Music and Beats Electronics to the Apple family,” Apple wrote. “Music has always held a special place in our hearts, and we’re thrilled to join forces with a group of people who love it as much as we do.”

Continuing to write that Jimmy Lovine and Dr.Dre have already created “beautiful products that have helped millions of people deepen their connection to music.”

Shortly after which Apple’s CEO Tim Cook continued the praise with his own Tweet:

As of yet Apple hasn’t revealed how it will use Beats Electronics, or if its products will make their way to the Apple Stores.

But its great to know that Apple has finally completed the deal after revealing that it would be buying the company in May, since which time various countries approved the deal.

We presume that Apple may not only be interested in the company just for its headphones, but they may also want to use the company for Beats Music, which is the music-streaming service that Beats launched earlier this year.

We should hear more about their plans soon however.
