Every iPhone 5 rumor has been leading up to one day, the one day that Apple finally host their event where they will unveil the next generation iPhone.

The date for which was first reported on the iMore site this morning, who said that Apple will be hosting their next media event on September 12th, which will likely see the release of the long rumored iPad Mini and iPhone 5, which iMore also reported to be launched on the following Friday 21st.

This has now been practically confirmed by AllThingsD, who are also stating that Apple will be hosting the event on the same date.

“Apple hasn’t yet officially announced the fall event at which it is expected to debut the next iteration of the iPhone, but it’s definitely planning one.

Sources tell AllThingsD that Apple is currently planning an event for that week. And while we haven’t yet confirmed its focus, history suggests it will indeed be the new iPhone. One thing’s for certain, though: Apple is ramping up for a big fall product cycle. And to see that, you need only look at the recent spike in the company’s prepayment for inventory components”
