Shortly after reports began to emerge that third-party adaptors for the iPhone charging plug where electrocuting people, Apple decided to create a new adaptor trade-in program in the US and China, allowing users to buy an official adaptor in trade of their old one, for a discount.

That deal has today been extended to other countries across the globe, particularly in the UK where the program will open on August 16th.

Down from the usual price of £15, a charger using the trade-in program will cost just £8, you will however need to prove you have an Apple device to charge it with in order to qualify.

Japan, Germany, Australia, Canada and France will also get the program, kicking off on August 16th

However the program will end on October 15th, so get your supplies in quick.
