Apple has been filing a lot of NFC-related patents lately but doesn’t actually have any NFC-related products, which could mean one of two things, either they are about to release an NFC-related product or they are just securing the patents before anyone else can. The most recent patent is a design for an “on-the-go shopping” application which will allow customers to find deals just by scanning a products barcode or taking a photo of the product itself, these products would then by added to a list, which can then be handed to a shop assistant for purchase, which could like with their current iOS 6 Passbook application.
